Canon said the 3000 Z series, which is designed in parallel to the existing Océ ColorStream 3000 range, is suitable for companies requiring a smaller footprint or support for stacked paper.
The series features a modified design of the ColorStream 3000 range and is suitable for smaller print environments that might not be suitable for high-volume inkjet installations.
The series comprises four systems, ranging from 48 to 127m/min, for an equivalent productivity of 324 to 1,714 A4ppm, while using around 30% less floor space.
Canon said the 3000 Z is designed to be the slimmest high-volume full-colour continuous-feed inkjet system on the market. It has built-in simplex Z-fold stacking functionality, which further reduces space impact and supports stacks of up to 300mm.
“The Océ ColorStream range is famous all over the world for delivering outstanding quality at high speed and with high reliability,” said Canon UK commercial print group director Craig Nethercott.
“The Océ ColorStream 3000 Z series brings this fantastic proposition to businesses with a restriction on space, making it possible to run a viable inkjet printing workflow where it wasn’t physically possible before.
“This makes it easier for businesses to provide these services closer to city centres, or complement existing print systems without having to spend money on expanding their sites.”Speaking at Hunkeler, Canon Commercial Printing Group Emerging Markets Business Unit consulting project manager Jonathan Urry added: “The 3000 Z series is offering a new variation of the 3000 range.
“Technology wise it’s very similar to the standard 3000; it’s physically smaller but has all of the same advantages. It’s suitable for transactional and transpromo printing and it’s had a very good reaction here at the show.”
